The Role

The Sales Specialist is responsible for the Titration, Density and Refractometry products within the Company's laboratory instrument portfolio across the North East and Central East UK. The Sales Specialist will develop new and existing accounts using database prospecting activity and working with the Account Managers.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Sales Manager:

  • Meet/exceed set net and value income targets;
  • Develop instrument business using database and prospecting activity, working with the Account Manager;
  • Develop quality image with customers and provide support for customers;
  • Gather information on market and competition;
  • Contribute ideas to improve the Division's sales volume;
  • Develop sales/service connections to utilise synergy to promote the Company;
  • Contribute to articles and ideas/applications for product promotions;
  • Liaise with Account Manager and industrial team to develop major accounts.

The Company is a highly-respected manufacturer and distributor of laboratory instrumentation, consumables and service used in research, scientific, drug discovery, and quality control labs. Its products are utilised by the pharmaceutical, chemical, food and cosmetics industries worldwide.

The Candidate

Most suited to this role will be someone with a degree or equivalent qualification in Chemistry or related subject. The ideal candidate will have sales experience of laboratory capital products to key markets within the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries.

A high degree of self-motivation, discipline and self-efficiency would serve this role well, as would the ability to work successfully within a team.

This is an exciting opportunity that is supported by on-going training and development. A technical mind to develop customer applications will serve this role well, along with the ability to demonstrate and install the full product range.

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent qualification in chemistry or a related scientific subject

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • PC literate

Relevant Experience

  • Previous track record in sales within the laboratory market
