Working closely with Jobcentre Plus offices across the Midlands region, and as a member of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), Assimilate is able to offer jobseekers an insight into the workings of the modern recruitment industry and advice on how to work with the system to find and succeed in applying for that new job.

How Can We Help You

It can be an extremely daunting and often upsetting time to find yourself unemployed. Knowing where to begin your search for a new job and how to go about marketing yourself to new employers is not easy, and with the rapid change over the past decade in how jobs are advertised and applied for, it can appear to be a minefield, especially if you find yourself unemployed for the first time in many years.

Working with the Jobcentre Plus, Assimilate can work with you to:

1. understand your history and your requirements for your next role,

2. to set a course of action to seek and apply for new roles and;

3. to introduce you to modern methods used by recruiters to find candidates.

Our Service

Our guidance comes in the form of a one-to-one meeting, followed up by support via the phone and email. This way we can ensure that the help we provide is entirely customised to your specific job-seeking requirements, rather than general advice provided in the form of a group seminar.

We will work through the following points with you:

  • Revision and optimisation of your CV to ensure it is compatible with current recruitment methods - e.g. the use of internet job and CV database websites
  • Understanding the current labour market and how to best work around the recession
  • Identifying and making best use of your transferrable skills
  • Analysing job vacancies and alternative opportunities
  • Understanding employer selection techniques
  • How to make successful job applications
  • Interview preparation and how to present the best case for your appointment
  • Creating a job-seeking action plan

Your one-to-one meeting will take place in your locality, and after discussing your job seeking requirements in depth, we will together draw up an action plan to help make your search, application and interview process more efficient and more likely to succeed.
