The Role

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for selling the company's range of calibration services for electrical and mechanical equipment. These services are applied to many different types of industry from building maintenance to aerospace and transportation.

Key Responsibilities

  • To sell and promote the companies range of calibration services to new and existing customers
  • Maintain customers' contact and activity records on the Company's database;
  • Liaise with customers to ensure that their requirements are met, and general customer care and maintenance standards are upheld;
  • Following sales leads either from the Company's head office or new leads established through canvassing, including sales of calibration services and instrument sales, with appropriate demonstrations where required;
  • Creating call plans and follows up action to leads and customer visits, based on two fixed calls per day and 3 quotations per week;
  • Maintain existing business and any other duties that may be required to ensure the smooth running of the Company's business.

The Company specialises in providing calibration and repair services for electrical, temperature, humidity, RF/Microwave and dimensional measuring instruments. Founded over twenty years ago, it offers a wide range of services, including on-site, mobile and laboratory UKAS calibration (accredited to ISO 17025). The Company prides itself in its ability to serve clients of all sizes and to respond to their different requirements effectively and professionally.

The Candidate

Most suited to this role would be someone with the energy and desire to take their hands-on technical understanding and previous sales experience to new heights of responsibility.

The ideal candidate will have an HNC/HND, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering. A high degree of self motivation, organisation and self efficiency would serve this role well.

This is an exciting and pivotal role within an established organisation, where the successful candidate will be encouraged to use their electronic engineering application and commercial acumen to best effect to serve existing customers and win important new business.
